Oklahoma Spaceport
The Oklahoma Spaceport consists of approximately 2700 acres of land, located 7 miles south of I-40, just west of Burns Flat, Oklahoma in Washita County. The facility was originally a Naval Air Station and later was used by the US Air Force as a Strategic Air Command (SAC) base. The Spaceport encompasses Clinton-Sherman Municipal Airport, which boasts one of the longest concrete runways in North America (13,503' x 300). The "Spaceport Territory" also includes a 168 square mile area surrounding the property.
Spaceport Services
SWODA provides services on the Spaceport facility under contract with the Oklahoma Space Industry Development Authority (OSIDA). SWODA provides facility management services including infrastructure maintenance, air traffic control, security, and emergency services.
Oklahoma Space Industry Development Authority
The Spaceport Authority was created by legislation, Senate Bill 720, signed into law by Governor Frank Keating on May 17, 1999. The Governor appointed the Chairman and Board members, who were confirmed by the Senate on February 14, 2001. The State of Oklahoma acquired ownership of the Oklahoma Spaceport in December 2006.

Buildings
Existing buildings available for industrial use are numerous and range from nose docks on the flight line to smaller general-purpose buildings. Most of the buildings are in fair to good condition and can be adapted for industrial purposes. Large areas of open land provide excellent locations for construction of new facilities. Utilities
Gas distribution lines (161,515 feet) at the Spaceport are maintained and operated by Oklahoma Natural Gas Company. Electric power is provided to the Spaceport by AEP Public Service Company. Windstream provides telephone service. Water and Sewer services to industrial tenants at the Spaceport are provided by SWODA.
Rail Service
There are 7.03 miles of railroad track linking the main Spaceport area to a connection point with the Farmrail main line just north of Dill City, Oklahoma.
Emergency Services
Medical service is provided by Burns Flat Medical Clinic, division of Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, OK. Crash rescue and ambulance service is provided by the Clinton-Sherman Fire Department. Law enforcement is provided by the Washita County Sheriff's office.
Western Technology Center
Western Technology Center (WTC), a vocational-technical training school, occupies 101 acres on the Spaceport. WTC provides customized programs, expert assistance and training facilities through seven Business and Industry Service programs, along with career opportunities offered through Oklahoma's Workforce 2000.
Housing
Midwestern Oklahoma Development Authority (MODA) manages 900 former Airforce housing units located adjacent to the Spaceport. These housing units can be leased or purchased from MODA call 580-562-3111 for more information.
